In what looks like a green light to locating the group behind mysterious disappearance of people in Akure—the Ondo State Capital and environ, the Ondo State Chairman of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Mr. Jacob Adebo (Idajo) has mentioned the group behind the evil act.
Jacob (Idajo) mentioned the group last Saturday evening while reacting to an accusation against him on a Yoruba radio programme, Gongo Nso with Babatunde Bamigboye (Omo Edema) on Adaba 88.9FM, Ilaramokin.
In a voice insert as played by the presenter, the Union boss was quoted as saying:
“… don’t you know the brothers around stadium? Don’t you know ‘Ekun and Co’? Do you want to claim you don’t know them? ‘Ekun and Co’ that are kidnapping women and people and taking them to unknown destinations—don’t you know them?”
According to Omo Edema, between March and October this year, more than 10 cases of missing persons/kidnapping from Akure and environ have been reported to him. He said about 2% of the missing persons/kidnapped narrowly escaped or later dumped by their captors. 1.5% of the escapees lamented they were kidnaped in the State taxi coloured vehicles in Akure while 0.5% of them occurred while traveling from the state to other states.
Earlier on the programme, Idajo was heard threatening the presenter that he would make sure he was ‘no more’ in the state.
Recall, the Union State boss was accused by the investigative radio presenter that he ordered his men at Ajapada Park, Roadblock Akure to lynch him during an investigation to the park in November 8, 2018 over an allegation of kidnapping was brought against the park by a passenger. The presenter and his colleagues were beaten to stupor. Read more here.
The presenter, however, called on the relevant authorities in the state and in Nigeria as a whole, to invite the notable personality with such a vital information for questioning in order to avert occurrence of kidnapping in the state.
