At least two person’s have reportedly killed last Thursday when armed robbers invaded a Wema bank branch in Okuku, the headquarters of Odo-otin local government area of Osun state.
It was gathered that the robbers gained entry into the bank by deploying dynamites to blow up the security door of the bank. They also shot indiscriminately, leading to the death of the victims.
Apart from those killed in the attack, other bank workers and customers at the Automated teller machine (ATM) Sustained injuries.
An eye witness who pleaded anonymity, disclosed that the robbers announced their arrival with gun shots, which frightened residents scampering for safety.
The bandits were reportedly blew security door and the bank ATM machine with dynamites to gain access to the banking hall.
They were said to have made away with unspecified amount of money during the robbery which took place around 1530hrs and lasted for about two hours.
The unfortunate incident paralyzed transportation, economic and all social activities in the area.
